The Shorecrest Scots will face off against the Ballard Beavers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Shorecrest barely beat Cascade the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Shorecrest put the hurt on Cascade with a sharp 10-2 win on Monday. The Scots haven't had any issues with the Bruins recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Kaden Hamshaw looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Quinn Burnham, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Koen Ekstrom, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
Meanwhile, Ballard put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Nathan Hale 13-7.
Wes Manger made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Manger was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Ballard got a massive performance out of Aiden DePaula, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases DePaula has posted since back in April of 2024. Truitt Madonna was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Ballard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nathan Hale only posted an OBP of .412.
Shorecrest came out on top in a nail-biter against Ballard when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 8-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shorecrest since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
