Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Olympia). They blew past the Spanaway Lake Sentinels 26-3 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won five games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Sydnee Chandler-Trent made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sydney Potvin was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Avery Mauldin, who went 3-for-5 with four runs and four RBI.
Olympia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. They are 7-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The victory made it two in a row for Olympia and bumps their season record up to 9-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Spanaway Lake, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.
