It was a good run, but Eagle Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 69-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Capital Prep Harbor. While losing is never fun, Eagle Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 57th in New York, while the Sharks are ranked ninth in Connecticut).
Capital Prep Harbor got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Edward Williams out in front who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Williams has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last four times he's played. Joshua Daniels was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Eagle Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-2. As for Capital Prep Harbor, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Eagle Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Capital Prep Harbor won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Chancellors at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. St. Thomas More has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 265 points over their last three contests.
