The South Johnston Trojans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They breezed by Smithfield-Selma at home to the tune of 55-4. That 55-4 margin sets a new team best for South Johnston this season.
It was another big night for Lannah Price, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Allison Barbour, who scored eight points.
South Johnston pushed their record up to 4-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29 points. As for Smithfield-Selma, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Johnston will square off against Fike at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fike presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Johnston in North Carolina (Fike is ranked 145th, while South Johnston is ranked 394th). As for Smithfield-Selma, they will head out on the road to face off against Hunt at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hunt focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
