The Zavalla Eagles will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the High Island Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Zavalla has three straight victories, the Cardinals have ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
In what's become a running theme this season, Zavalla gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Leggett 58-24 on the road. 58 seems to be a good number for Zavalla as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, High Island didn't have quite enough to beat the Pirates last Friday and fell 2-0.
Zavalla has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. As for High Island, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10.
Zavalla barely slipped by the Cardinals in their previous matchup back in January, winning 1-0. Does Zavalla have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
