Davis is 9-1 against Syracuse since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Davis Darts will head out on the road to face off against the Syracuse Titans at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
On Tuesday, Davis faced Layton in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Davis fell just short of Layton by a score of 73-71. Davis has struggled against Layton recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Zach Fisher, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Ike Morgan was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine assists.
Meanwhile, Syracuse's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They fell 62-50 to Weber.
Davis' loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6. As for Syracuse, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Davis beat Syracuse 64-52 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Davis since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
