Germantown is 0-5 against Taconic Hills since May of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Clippers will face off against the Titans at 4:30 p.m.
Germantown is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Wednesday. They fell 8-3 to Hudson. That's two games in a row now that the Clippers have lost by exactly five runs.

Germantown saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Hildenbrand, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Hildenbrand is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
Taconic Hills came out on top against Cairo-Durham on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run sixth inning. The Titans blew past the Mustangs 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won eight matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Tristan Super made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). Super was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Taconic Hills' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-3 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Francis Conners-Schmid, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Tyler Mulrein was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Taconic Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cairo-Durham only managed five hits.
Taconic Hills is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Germantown, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Germantown has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Taconic Hills struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Germantown might still be hurting after the 16-0 defeat they got from Taconic Hills when the teams last played back in April. Can the Clippers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
