The Lake Wales Highlanders will take on the Ocoee Knights at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Thursday, things could have been worse for Lake Wales, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 71-55 loss to the Tigers.
Despite their loss, Lake Wales saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jeremy Willingham, who scored 13 points, was perhaps the best of all. Sebastian Perez was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Ocoee didn't have too much trouble with the Chargers at home on Thursday as they won 80-65. Given Ocoee's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Chargers are ranked 573rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lake Wales dropped their record down to 9-15 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Ocoee, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.
