Killian Hill Christian has not had much luck with Young Americans Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Killian Hill Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hawthorne Herring, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Herring has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Emory Berry, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
Leading Young Americans Christian to victory were Caleb Blunt and Nick Holloway. Blunt scored 23 points, while Holloway scored 27 points. Blunt continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Gibbs, who scored 11 points.
Killian Hill Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Young Americans Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Killian Hill Christian will challenge Bible Baptist Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bible Baptist Christian will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Killian Hill Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Young Americans Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Lanier Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Averaging 61.26 points so far this season, Young Americans Christian's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Lanier Christian Academy better be ready for a challenge.
