When it comes to explaining why Charlotte lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaelyn Baker. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points along with three steals. That was a full 53.1% of Charlotte's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyndi Miller, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
The victory got Central Montcalm back to even at 6-6. As for Charlotte, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Montcalm won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Alma presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Hornets in Michigan (the Panthers are ranked 98th, while the Hornets are ranked 396th). As for Charlotte, they will head out on the road to take on the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lansing Catholic will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
