Two dominant in Taja Porcher and Andrea Kelly are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The North Charleston Cougars will be playing at home against the Burke Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Charleston is out to stop a 11-game streak of losses at home.
North Charleston suffered their biggest defeat since December 9, 2023 on Thursday. They suffered a rough 51-30 defeat at the hands of Philip Simmons. North Charleston has not had much luck with Philip Simmons recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Porcher put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 82-27, which was the final score in Burke's tilt against Military Magnet Academy on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Burke can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while Military Magnet Academy is ranked 29th).
North Charleston's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Burke, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-7.
North Charleston took a serious blow against Burke in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 77-31. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point North Charleston was down 39-14.
