The Torres Toros will look to defend their home pitch on Wednesday against the Nipomo Titans at 6:00 p.m. Torres' last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Last Thursday, neither Torres nor Madera South could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. There's a chance things could've gone differently had Torres not been charged with a red card from Diego Solorio.
Torres' goal came courtesy of
Fabian Magdaleno, who's now up to four this season.
Meanwhile, Nipomo unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Joseph.
Diego Bernal, who's played more minutes than anyone else on the Nipomo squad sat out for Thursday's match. With Bernal sitting this one out, Justin Sights got some extra time on the pitch (80 vs. his season average of 35.63).
With that draw, Torres' record moves to 10-4-4. As for Nipomo, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11-1.
Torres was able to grind out a solid win over Nipomo in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 2-0. Will Torres repeat their success, or does Nipomo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
