Softball Recap: Pascagoula Takes a Loss

Pascagoula fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Long Beach on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Long Beach Bearcats by a score of 8-7. Even though they lost, the Panthers' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.1 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Ty'Mia Bell and Khyliyah Moore stepped up to the plate in a big way. Bell scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Moore scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Bell has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Dextiny Combs, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Pascagoula has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. Long Beach's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-7.

While Pascagoula had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
