If The Beaufort Eagles were feeling good off their 54-12 takedown of the North Charleston Cougars last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Beaufort fell 35-24 to Hanahan on Friday. Beaufort was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hanahan apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dorell Depass, who rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown. Depass' longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards. Samari Bonds was another key contributor, rushing for 90 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
It was another big night for Kevon Rivera, who rushed for 195 yards and two touchdowns. Rivera is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played. Hanahan also got help from Landon Gomes who showed off his sure hands for 113 receiving yards.
Beaufort's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Hanahan, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-4.
Beaufort will head out on the road to face off against Loris at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Loris will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Hanahan will take on Aynor at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
