The Calhoun Tigers won against the Central Lions last Tuesday with 41 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. Calhoun came out on top against Central by a score of 41-32. The win made it back-to-back wins for Calhoun.
Calhoun was led to victory by Layla Gary and Kamelia Hunter. Gary scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Hunter scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. Hunter has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Mariah Champion was another key contributor, scoring three points along with three steals.
Calhoun's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-10. As for Central, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-11.
Calhoun will head out on the road to challenge Dallas County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Central, they will be playing at home against Calhoun at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
