The Talladega Tigers pushed their score all the way to 56 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a serious blow against Jacksonville, falling 84-56. While losing is never fun, Talladega can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 296th, while Jacksonville is ranked 49th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jacksonville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Devin Barksdale, who scored 14 points. The matchup was Barksdale's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sean Herbert, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Talladega's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-8. As for Jacksonville, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
Talladega will head out on the road to face off against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 21. As for Jacksonville, they will stay at home for another game and welcome White Plains at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th.
