Baseball Recap: Thursday's Defeat Ends New Hanover's Winning Streak

New Hanover dropped their record down to 15-10 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (7-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for D.H. Conley, the victory was the 22nd in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.

For D.H. Conley's part, they got a great performance from Conner Berry as he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Berry has posted since back in March.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Stewart, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Medhus, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

As of now, neither New Hanover nor D.H. Conley have any future games scheduled.
