The Tucker Tigers were the 60-43 winner over the M.L. King Lions when they last played one another on January 5th, but their luck changed this time around. Tucker was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 48-47 to M.L. King.
Tucker lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaymee Carter, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ka'nya Hairston, who scored 13 points.
M.L. King's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aubriana Kirkland, who scored 18 points along with six steals and three blocks. Kirkland hasn't dropped below two steals for 15 straight games. Another player making a difference was Alika Daugherty, who scored 13 points along with eight steals.
Tucker's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for M.L. King, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-14.
Tucker won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Chamblee at 2:00 p.m. on January 20th. Hopefully Chamblee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday. As for M.L. King, they will be playing at home against Lithonia at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
