Mammoth is 1-7 against the Scorpions since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Mammoth Huskies will head out on the road to square off against the Desert Scorpions at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Mammoth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
Last Friday, Mammoth was able to grind out a solid victory over the Ravens, taking the game 50-37. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mammoth.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mammoth to victory, but perhaps none more so than Matt Toomey, who scored six points along with 21 rebounds and five assists. Toomey hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Forest Daniels, who scored 20 points.
Meanwhile, Desert entered their tilt with the Broncs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Desert walked away with a 56-48 victory over the Broncs on Tuesday. 56 seems to be a good number for Desert as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Mammoth's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Desert, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Mammoth was able to grind out a solid win over the Scorpions when the teams last played back in January, winning 61-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mammoth since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
