The Rouse Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Leander Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Rouse sitting on ten straight victories and Leander on three.
You can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Rouse's strategy against Cedar Park on Tuesday. Rouse walked away with a 65-53 victory over Cedar Park. Given Rouse's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Cedar Park is ranked 256th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rouse got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jojo Moore out in front who almost dropped a triple-double on 25 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists. Moore is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amarie Haywood, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Leander took their match at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 63-15 win over Lockhart.
Rouse has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 25-7 record this season. As for Leander, they pushed their record up to 17-14 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Rouse didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Leander in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 41-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rouse since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
