Westfield is 1-9 against Elizabeth since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Westfield scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They walked away with a 64-53 win over Pioneer Academy.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth entered their tilt with Colonia with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Elizabeth came out on top in a nail-biter against Colonia on Sunday and snuck past 59-56. Given Elizabeth's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Colonia is ranked 65th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
London Carson was his usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cameron Mcrae, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Westfield's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Elizabeth, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
