The Huss Huskies were the 84-51 winner over the Hickory Red Tornadoes when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Huss falling 78-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Huss' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Trimell Dunlap, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals, and Zaiyir 'Zii' Phillips who scored 15 points along with 5 steals. Damontia Duff was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 3 steals.
John Holbrook was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Izaiah Littlejohn, who scored 16 points.
Huss' defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Hickory, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Huss will be playing in front of their home fans against Hickory at 7:30 p.m. on December 7th. As for Hickory, they will head out on the road to face off against Newton-Conover at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
