Ansonia (Conn.) beat Naugatuck (Conn.) 66-28 after a strong game from
Arkeel Newsome, who rushed for seven touchdowns. Thanks to the stand out performance the senior now has 52 touchdowns on the season.
After taking the lead on an Newsome touchdown run in the first quarter, the Chargers led 27-8 at the half.
Ansonia grew its lead to 31 points entering the fourth quarter. AHS scored five times in the third, including once on an Newsome touchdown run.
The loss snapped Naugatuck's six-game winning streak.
The Greyhounds came in giving up 16.3 points per game this season. Naugatuck struggled against Ansonia's offense, who entered the game scoring 50.5 points per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 48-27 win for Ansonia.
The loss comes after Naugatuck defeated Kennedy 45-7 last week.
