The Germantown Red Devils were the 46-32 winner over the Overton Wolverines when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Germantown took a 44-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Overton. While losing is never fun, Germantown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Overton is ranked 77th).
Overton found their leader in underclassman Kierra Baldwin, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alexandria Clemmons, who scored 14 points along with 3 steals.
Germantown now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Overton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Germantown will head out on the road to face off against Kirby at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Overton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mitchell at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Mitchell focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Tuesday.
