Loris and Dillon are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. After both having extra time off, both will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Loris will be strutting in after a victory while Dillon will be coming in after a defeat.
Loris took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed two weeks ago. They wrapped up 2024 with a 54-40 win over Marion.

Loris can attribute much of their success to Janiya Richburg, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 18 boards, and Dazena Capers, who went 8 of 13 on her way to 19 points. Richburg is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Janyshia Brown, who posted eight points and six rebounds.
Loris was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, Dillon's game two weeks ago was all tied up 23-23 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 42-41 to Scott's Branch.
Loris will have to contain Ayonna Lester as she made an impact in Dillon's last game. She went 8 of 17 on her way to 19 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. Those 19 points gave Lester a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Khwnylahi Mckinnon, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 10 points along with six assists and five boards.
Loris is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Dillon, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Loris has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 35.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Dillon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Loris came up short against Dillon when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 52-46. Can Loris avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
