After two games on the road, North Stafford is heading back home. They will take on the Riverbend Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. North Stafford has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
North Stafford scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. Everything went their way against Brooke Point as North Stafford made off with a 57-33 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win North Stafford has posted yet this season.
It was another big night for Destinee Salgado, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Daysha Salgado, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Meanwhile, Riverbend can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Mountain View 60-31 at home. The victory was just what Riverbend needed coming off of a 57-33 defeat in their prior match.
Riverbend had a senior duo take command as Maniyah Alston scored 20 points and Olivia Long scored nine points along with six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaya Pace, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and two blocks.
North Stafford pushed their record up to 10-7 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Riverbend, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-4.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: North Stafford have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 24.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Riverbend struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.2 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
