It was fun while it lasted, but Richmond's undefeated season came to an end after six games on Thursday. They were dealt an 82-46 loss at the hands of the Summit Christian Academy Eagles. The matchup marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tristin Mccoy, who posted two points and five rebounds. Brice Dome was another key player, putting up four points and three steals.

Summit Christian Academy was led to victory by Mike Thomas III and Max Rieger. Thomas III went 7 of 10 on his way to 20 points along with six rebounds and six steals, while Rieger went 9 of 16 on his way to 22 points in addition to five assists and five steals. The contest was Rieger's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Bechtold, who made all 5 shots he took to post 12 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Richmond fell to 6-1. As for Summit Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Richmond will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wellington-Napoleon at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Summit Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-45 loss against Smith-Cotton on the 21st.
