The Stryker Panthers will face off against the Pettisville Blackbirds at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stryker has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with six straight losses, while Pettisville will come in with four straight victories.
Stryker is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Hamilton on Monday, falling 18-6.
Stryker saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addalee Fulk, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI and one double. Abby Fulk also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Meanwhile, Pettisville got the win against North Central on Monday by a conclusive 11-2. Considering the Blackbirds have won five contests by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Macy Hoylman was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Naomi Richer, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Jalyssa Molina was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Pettisville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Pettisville pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Stryker, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
Stryker couldn't quite finish off Pettisville in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 5-3. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
