The Monroe Central Seminoles will head out to face off against the Meadowbrook Colts at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Monroe Central's victory against Frontier wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Seminoles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Cougars on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Seminoles have posted since April 6th.
Meanwhile, Meadowbrook waltzed into their matchup on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 13-2 win. 13 seems to be a good number for the Colts as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Addy Sichina made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sommer Ginn, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Addie Schultice, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Meadowbrook was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Monroe Central's record now sits at 18-5. As for Meadowbrook, their record is now 16-6.
Monroe Central suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Meadowbrook in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Can the Seminoles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
