The Snow Canyon Warriors scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They escaped with a win against Crimson Cliffs by the margin of a single free throw, 75-74. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Owen Mackay continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 35 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. That's the first time this season that he posted eight or more assists. Trey Kelsch was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Snow Canyon pushed their record up to 7-4 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.1 points per game. As for Crimson Cliffs, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Snow Canyon will take on Pine View at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pine View knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Snow Canyon likes a good challenge. As for Crimson Cliffs, they will head out on the road to face off against Cedar at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
