The Bayshore Bruins are taking a road trip to take on the Parrish Community Bulls at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bayshore is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Bayshore didn't have quite enough to beat Booker and fell 9-8. While the Bruins didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tornadoes 8-2 in the first period.
Jordan Greene was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Greene wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Diego Villegas, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, Parrish Community was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against Riverview Sarasota by a score of 7-4.
Vince Barry looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Ja'Brien Quiles was incredible, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Tyler Brown also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Bayshore's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Parrish Community, their record now sits at 5-2.
Bayshore's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's match. Bayshore has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Parrish Community, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Bayshore continue to outrun the ball?
Bayshore suffered a grim 28-3 defeat to Parrish Community in their previous meeting back in February. Can Bayshore avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
