Mia Brauss was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off one hit. Brauss was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases.
Ensworth pushed their record up to 1-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs per game. As for Brentwood Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
