West Jersey - Liberty recap November 5, 2013
Delran extended the longest winning streak in West Jersey - Liberty this week by beating Maple Shade, 43-7. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Delran led the league in scoring this week by notching 43 points on the Wildcats.
Cinnaminson's dynamic duo of Nick Thevanayagam and Peter Selnek proved tough for Willingboro to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Thevanayagam threw for 85 yards and 1 touchdown and Selnek had 32 yards receiving. Christian DeLuca helped Cinnaminson's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 26 yards.
Devauntay Ellis was a passing and rushing force as Ewing bested Burlington City.
Ellis was a beast in the backfield as the Blue Devils topped the Blue Devils.
Robbinsville's Andrew Aromando and Darron Daniel led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Aromando has thrown for 655 yards this season, while Daniel has 19 catches for 290 yards. Ellis from Ewing leads the league in rushing with 1,100 yards.
Jahmire Vankline of the Bordentown is just 55 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 99 carries Vankline has accumulated 945 yard this year.
An important game coming up in West Jersey - Liberty this week will be when Drew Besler's team takes on Pete Miles' team. As it stands, the Blue Devils are in third, while the Bears are in first.
There should be lots of points scored when Cinnaminson and the Scotties face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Mario Patrizi's team comes in having scored 190 this season, while Bordentown has scored 172. The Pirates scored 27 points last week as they defeated the Chimeras.
Ewing made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,544 from 8,119. The improvement was largely due to a 28-6 victory over Burlington City last week.
