The Legacy Christian Grizzlies's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Crosspointe Christian Academy Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th.
Last Friday, Legacy Christian lost to King's Academy on the road by a decisive 62-46 margin. While losing is never fun, Legacy Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 410th, while King's Academy is ranked 169th).
Meanwhile, Crosspointe Christian Academy came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Colonial Christian 64-15 on the road. With Crosspointe Christian Academy ahead 48-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.
It was another big night for Coltenn Wagner, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 steals. Wagner is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Neby Yewubneh, who scored 15 points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Legacy Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Crosspointe Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Legacy Christian took a serious blow against Crosspointe Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 96-42. Thankfully for Legacy Christian, Gavin Harvey (who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 13 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
