Wapakoneta is 3-0 against Allen East since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Wapakoneta Redskins will be home for the holidays to greet the Allen East Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Wapakoneta will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 435th, while Allen East is ranked 175th).
Last Saturday, Wapakoneta came up short against Marion Local and fell 55-43. Wapakoneta has not had much luck with Marion Local recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, Allen East scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hardin Northern 64-15 on the road. That 64-15 margin sets a new team best for Allen East this season.
It was another big night for Rilynn Jones, who scored 17 points along with six steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Allen East's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savana Brooks, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Wapakoneta's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Allen East, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.
Wapakoneta was able to grind out a solid victory over Allen East in their previous meeting back in December of 2020, winning 39-28. Does Wapakoneta have another victory up their sleeve, or will Allen East turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
