The Osceola Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 24 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Nebraska Lutheran with a sharp 54-30 victory on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Osceola, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Osceola was led to victory by Emma Recker and Addison Theis. Recker scored 15 points, while Theis scored 16 points along with five rebounds. The contest was Theis' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Courtney Sunday, who scored five points along with five steals.
When it comes to explaining why Nebraska Lutheran lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rebecca Hueske. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Hueske is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Nebraska Lutheran struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Osceola racked up 11 assists.
Osceola's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. As for Nebraska Lutheran, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.
Osceola will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Mead at 4:00 p.m. on December 29th. Nebraska Lutheran will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bruning-Davenport/Shickley on January 4, 2024.
