After two games on the road, Shafter is heading back home. They will take on the Wasco Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Shafter knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Wasco likes a good challenge.
On Tuesday, Shafter earned a 56-47 victory over Kennedy.
Shaun Maldonado and Aidan Cardenas were among the main playmakers for Shafter as the former scored 22 points and the latter scored 19 points along with two steals. Nathan Bloemhof was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds and four blocks.
Meanwhile, Wasco's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 66-27 defeat at the hands of Taft. Wasco has struggled against Taft recently, as their game on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Shafter's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10. As for Wasco, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
