Volleyball Recap: Staples Takes a Loss

The Staples Wreckers came up short against the Simsbury Trojans on Friday and fell 3-1.

Staples was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Simsbury work for it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 20-25, 28-26, 25-21.

When it comes to explaining why Staples lost, don't look at Zakir Hossain. Despite the final result, he had 13 digs and four assists. Hossain is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Staples' loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Simsbury, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

Staples has already played their next matchup (against Trumbull), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Simsbury, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Windsor on the 11th.
