The Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers will take on the Bullitt East Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Pleasure Ridge Park has given up an average of 7.7 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Pleasure Ridge Park fell victim to Heritage Hills and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Patriots, falling 11-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.
Meanwhile, Bullitt East entered their tilt with Bullitt Central on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. Considering the Chargers have won 21 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Ryleigh Watrous made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Watrous was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alivia Cooper, who fired off two home runs, four RBI, and one double while going 4-for-4. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in April. Kinnley Murphy was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Bullitt East always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bullitt Central only posted an OBP of .143.
Pleasure Ridge Park has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. As for Bullitt East, their win bumped their record up to 25-4.
