The Trinity International Thunder will take on Balboa School at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Trinity International was beaten by Innovations International 67-35. Trinity International has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Balboa School is ranked highly in their home state, and on Sunday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of D. Balboa School fell 62-50 to D. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Balboa School came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fifth in California, while D is ranked 25th in Florida).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jamaal Phatty, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Fernando De Los Santos, who scored 14 points along with 3 steals.
Trinity International's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Balboa School, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Trinity International came up short against Balboa School in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 38-32. Can Trinity International avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
