Despite the loss, Russellville saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Whit Goodwin threw for 317 yards and four TDs. Goodwin's passing game has become a key predictor of the Golden Tigers' success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. 89 of Goodwin's passing yards were hauled in by James Devaney, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Fairview will head out to face off against Priceville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
