Chavez suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were dealt a 84-23 loss at the hands of North Hollywood. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Chavez in their matchups with North Hollywood: they've now lost six in a row.
Meanwhile, Monroe was beaten by Grant 87-27 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Monroe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1097th, while Grant is ranked 257th).
Chavez's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Monroe, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
