They came out on top against American Collegiate Academy by a score of 74-63 on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
American Collegiate Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tristan Townsend, who scored 24 points along with four steals, and Marcus Green who scored 20 points along with two blocks. It was the first time this season that Green posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavien Edmonds, who scored seven points along with two steals.
IMG Academy Black's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-12. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for American Collegiate Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-7.
IMG Academy Black won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. One thing working in Winthrop College Prep Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches. As for American Collegiate Academy, they will be playing at home against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
