Purvis is on a seven-game streak of home losses, Sumrall a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The Purvis Tornadoes just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Sumrall Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Purvis is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Lawrence County on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Purvis was beaten by Lawrence County 63-17. The match marked the Tornadoes' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Purvis' loss came about despite a quality game from Breleigh Adkins, who posted four points along with 11 rebounds and four steals. Adkins has been hot, having posted ten or more boards the last six times she's played.
Even though they lost, Purvis smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 20 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Sumrall faced off against Lawrence County on Friday. Sumrall took a 56-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lawrence County.
Purvis will have to contain Ella Robertson as she made an impact in Sumrall's last game. She went 6 of 14 on her way to 26 points and three steals. That was a full 60.5% of Sumrall's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.
Sumrall now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Purvis, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Purvis has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 48.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Sumrall struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Purvis was taken down by Sumrall 69-33 when the teams last played on January 10th. Will Purvis have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
