It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pinecrest can now relate to. They took  a  3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Myers Park Mustangs on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the  3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in October of 2019.
 While Pinecrest ultimately came up short, they really made  Myers Park work, particularly in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 23-25, 26-24,  25-16.
 Carly Stayskal paced Pinecrest's offense, picking up 11 kills. Stayskal were helped by Callie Garrison and  Lawson Barrett, who contributed 14 assists each. Stayskal also made an impact serving:  she shared the team lead in aces with  Aubrey Taylor, each putting up four.
  Barrett Lacouture went supernova For Myers Park.,  getting 15  assists and 11  digs. Lacouture is  on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's  now  posted 13 or more in each of the last seven games she's  played.  Vivian Wilson also deserves some recognition as  she  had her first  block of the season.
Pinecrest now  has a losing record of 12-13. As for Myers Park, their victory was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 15-8.
 Pinecrest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Myers Park, they will head out on the road to  face off against  West Forsyth  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
