While it was all tied up 15-15 at halftime, the Nease Panthers were not quite the St. Augustine Yellow Jackets's equal in the second half on Friday. Nease took a 43-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Augustine. Nease was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as St. Augustine apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Defeat or not, Nease got some senior leadership from Bryson Utter who scored 15 points and Jack Sullivan who scored ten points.
This is the second loss in a row for Nease and nudges their season record down to 9-9. As for St. Augustine, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.
Nease will head out on the road to face off against Beachside at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Beachside will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 393rd, while Nease is ranked 174th). As for St. Augustine, they will be playing at home against Fletcher at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
