It was a good run, but the Alpaugh Buffalos unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were outmatched by Kings Christian at home and fell 84-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Alpaugh has suffered yet this season.
Despite the loss, Alpaugh still got an impressive performance from Jesus Nunez, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nunez has scored all season. Luis Vasquez was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Ronnie Roche was his usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-11 from deep and dropping a double-double on 33 points and ten rebounds for Kings Christian. That's the first time this season that Roche pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Trey Brouwer, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Alpaugh's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5. As for Kings Christian, the win (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 17-1.
Alpaugh will head out on the road to take on Laton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Laton is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. Kings Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Strathmore at 4:30 p.m. on January 13th. One thing working in Strathmore's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
