The South Central Falcons are taking a road trip to challenge the D.H. Conley Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with South Central sitting on five straight wins and D.H. Conley on nine.
South Central had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Princeton on Friday. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won four matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Isaiah James made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. That hit marked the first that he got this season.
In other pitching news, Brandon Worsley tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Rahkeem Williams was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Brannan, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
South Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five strikeouts batters in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday D.H. Conley sidestepped New Bern for a 3-2 victory. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by just one run.
Tucker Anderson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Davis Bradley, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
South Central pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for D.H. Conley, their record now sits at 11-1.
D.H. Conley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: South Central has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .433. It's a different story for D.H. Conley, though, as they've only averaged .331. Will they be able to contain South Central's hitters?
South Central couldn't quite get it done against D.H. Conley in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 5-2. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
