The Smoky Mountain Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 53-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tuscola. Smoky Mountain was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Tuscola apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Tuscola can attribute much of their success to Karsen Cherry, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Williamson, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Smoky Mountain has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Tuscola, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.
Smoky Mountain will head out on the road to square off against East Henderson at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Kaylee Foushee and Greenlee Flynn. As for Tuscola, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Henderson at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
