If the Desert Ridge Jaguars were feeling good off their 59-28 takedown of the Florence Gophers on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Desert Ridge took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Campo Verde on Saturday. Desert Ridge lost against Campo Verde in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 33-25 score last time.
Campo Verde can attribute much of their success to Kelsey Watts, who scored 23 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 steals. Another player making a difference was Kdynce Parks, who scored 13 points.
Desert Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Campo Verde, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Desert Ridge will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th. Campo Verde will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Gilbert at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th. Hopefully Gilbert focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday.
